Chhichhore Movie Poster

Script Analysis(story, Screenplay, Dialogues): The story of the movie based on 7 friends who are standing together facing any obstacle life put in on their way. The screenplay is great. Two stories are told parallel to each other. The first one is of hostel life from 1992 and the second one is situated around the current time. The screenplay comprises laughter and an equal dose of emotions. There are no dull moments in the first half. The second half is also good, but it has fewer scenes of characters interacting as it focuses more on college sports competition. Dialogues are good. Humour and emotion are equally quotients in the movie

Star Performance: Sushant Singh Rajput shines as Anirudh A.K.A  Anni in both the period. His performance and body language were equally good in the older look. His older looks seem similar to Steve Jobs. Shraddha Kapoor is the only female protagonist in the movie and she is good in both the period. Varun Sharma as Sexa is brilliant. He steals the show whenever he utters a word. He is playing the same as Choocha in the younger version, but he also acted brilliantly in his matured character. Tahir Raj Bhasin as Darec is good. Prateik Babbar is good in a slightly grey character. Navin Polishetty, Tushar Pandey, Saharsh Shukla are all great in their respective roles.

Chhichhore Movie Trailer

Technical Aspect(direction, Background Scores, Music): Movie is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The movie showcases the hostel life brilliantly. The movie is a good mixture of humour and emotion. The first half is great. The second half drags a bit with sports but is fun to watch. The background score is good. There is only one song in the movie that plays in the movie's background and one song played at the end of the movie. There is no random song or unnecessary dance number put into the movie which is a good thing. There is a good message quoted in the movie.

Verdict: The movie is definitely a watch, especially if you watch it with your friends. It will refresh many pleasant memories.

Who may like it: College going audience, people who missed their college day, this movie is for everyone who misses their college or hostel life.

Sacred Games 2 Netflix Web Series Review: A tight storyline with outstanding performances from its cast.

Web Series Name: Sacred Games 2
CastNawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey, Surveen Chawla
DirectorAnurag Kashyap, Neeraj Ghaywan
No. of Episodes8 Episodes
GenreCrime, Thriller, Mystery
Release Date:15th August
Platform: Netflix

Plot Summary: A cop tries to save the Mumbai city from the unknown disaster within 25 days.

Star Performance: Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh is flawless. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is always great. Pankaj Tripathi has more screen time from the last season and it is a treat to the eyes to watch Nawaz and Pankaj Ji, the two powerhouses of acting under one frame. Surveen Chawla surprises with a powerful performance. The two new entry Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey are also good and bring some freshness to the series. Neeraj Kabi as Inspector Parulkar is good. Aamir Bashir, Anupriya Goenka, Samir Kochhar, Chittaranjan Tripathy, Jaipreet Singh all were good in their roles. Jatin Sarna as Bunty as limited screen time in this season.

Script Analysis(story, Screenplay, Dialogues): The web series is based on Vikram Chandra 2006 Novel of the same name. The story of Season 2 continues from where season 1 was ended. Inspector Sartaj Singh is still trying to solve the mystery of saving the city from the unknown disaster with the 13 left for the D-day. The screenplay is going back and forth with the Gaitonde Flashback story and Sartaj Singh present-day situation. The story is tight and will keep you at the edge of your seats. Every character big or small has significance to the narrative. The only issue with the screenplay is continuing back and forth between past and present where sometimes it is unclear in which period is the narrative taking place. Dialogues are good with the bundle of Hindi slangs. Also, there is hardly any nude scenes as there were in the first season. As this season is more focus on Gaitonde downfall as the first season was more focused on his rise in the crime world. There are also uses of the current political situation of our country and the historical events which fit perfectly within the storyline.

Technical Aspect(direction, Background Scores, Music): The direction of Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan is outstanding. They had captured the essence of Mumbai present and past scenes very well. The background score is good. Cinematography is also great. The visuals during the night scenes are clear. The series does not have a musical number but had used some old songs in the background. Web series give the Anurag Kashyap the freedom to present the narrative in the way he likes to present as there is no involvement of the censorship board of India on web series.

Verdict: Another milestone for India's web series. Definitely, a must-watch.  And who knows they might be season 3 on the card?

Who may like it: Fans of Anurag Kashyap, First Season and crime thrillers.

Kedarnath Movie Review: A more of a fictitious love story than a natural disaster movie.

Movie Name: Kedarnath
Cast: Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan
DirectorAbhishek Kapoor
Movie runtime2 hrs
GenreRomantic/Disaster
Release Date: 7th December

Plot Summary: A fiction love story set on the background of Kedarnath flood happens in the year 2013.

Script Analysis(story, Screenplay, Dialogues): Movie is a fictitious love story set in the backdrop of Kedarnath flood tragedy. The story focuses more on the love angle rather than the natural disaster for what the audience came to watch in the movie.  It is 80% of a love story and only 20% focus is on flood tragedy. The screenplay is good in the first part and fall flat right after the interval. It picks up when the movie focuses on Kedarnath tragedy. The love story between the two is great in the first half but after the interval, the story drags in the second half. They could have given less importance to the love story in the second half. Dialogues are ok.

Star Performance: Sushant Singh Rajput plays Mansoor a local guide(Pithu) who carries pilgrims on their back or horse to the Kedarnath temple. He is very convincible, Especially during the scenes where he carries pilgrims on his back. His Chemistry with Sara Ali Khan is cute. Sara Ali Khan steals the show in her first movie. She has delivered a good performance keeping in the mind that it is her first movie. As the movie focus mainly only these two characters all the other characters have somewhere sidelined and not have given much scope, which is one drawback of the movie. All the other actors don't have many layers to their characters and are strictly Ok (the fault is of the screenplay).

Technical Aspect(direction, Background Scores, Music): Movie is directed by Abhishek Kapoor of Kai Po Che fame. The movie is shot beautifully. The scenes surrounding the valley are well shot. The direction is good. Abhishek Kapoor successfully captures the environment of Kedarnath Valley. It feels like you are watching real Kedarnath city before the flood strikes. VFX is good. It looks real. Background score is good. Song Jai Ho Shankara is nice and cinematography of the song is also visually stunning. all the other songs are Ok.

Verdict: The movie is a one time watch. Watch it for Sushant and Sara performances and for the cinematography of the movie.

Who may like it: Love story fan, Sushant Singh's fans, people who like to watch good real cinematography and VFX.

Robot 2.0 Movie Review: Rajinikanth Sir And Akshay Kumar shine in this visually Stunning Movie.

Movie Name: 2.0
Cast: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson
DirectorS.Shankar
Movie runtime2 hrs 30 min
GenreAction/Sci-Fi
Release Date: 29th November

Plot Summary: Chitti the robot is called back to fight with powerful villain Birdman.

Script Analysis(story, Screenplay, Dialogues): Movie continues the story from the first part. After the events of Enthiran Chitti, the robot is dismantled and has been kept in the museum. Strange things like mobile phones fly away in the sky and a bird-like figure traumatizes the city. Will Dr.Vaseegaran will able to solve the problem? Will Chitti be able to stop the Birdman? You will get all the answer in the movie. Storywise, this movie is more focus than the first movie. The screenplay is crisper than the first part, but the entertainment factor is less than Enthiran. I am not stating 2.0 is not entertaining but comparing with Enthiran is less entertaining but 2.0 is more story focus and visually stunning. The Screenplay is felt a little stretch in some part but it's ok. One thing is good that there is no unnecessary song thrown in between as it was there in Enthiran. More time is given to set up mobile phones flying events. The movie gets Fun once Chitti comes to the screen. Akshay Kumar entry comes in the Second half. He Should have been given some screen space before intermission. As it is Hindi Dubbed version of Tamil movie one can't expect much, dialogues are ok.

Star Performances: Rajni sir is brilliant as always. How someone at 67 of age can pull off such action with tremendous energy? Rajni Sir is good as Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, But he is excellent as 2.0 and 3.0. Akshay Kumar has limited screen space. Most of the time mobile phone bird VFX is there than Akshay. He is Excellent as Panchirajan in the background story of his character. It was refreshing to see Akshay Kumar in an old look. Both his Panchirajan and Birdman Look is great. Amy Jackson is good but they could have given her character more layers. Adil Hussain is good in the supporting role. If there is a movie starring Rajni sir than you know the who need supporting characters. As the movie will only be focused on Thalaiva.

Technical Aspect(direction, Background Scores, Music): S. Shankar Sir is master of the visually stunning movie. When Enthiran first came in 2010, it was the first time an Indian movie was made on such a scale. This time, Shankar Sir took the one step ahead with shooting a full movie with 3D technology. 3D was awesome as it was par with Hollywood standard in some VFX scenes. The movie was delayed as Shankar Sir want to make sure the VFX should be of top-notch standard and he gets successful in making a visually stunning movie. Background Score is good. There is no song in between of the movie. Only one song that plays during the end credit of the movie. The action is top-notch with the combination of visual effects and 3D.

                                                           2.0 Theatrical trailer

Verdict: Definitely worth a watch in 3d. If you want to experience a good 3D movie and want to make sure as India continues to make such a kind of creative cinema, please support these kinds of movies.

Who may like it: It is a treat for Rajni Sir fan. Akshay Kumar fan may also like it. Moviegoer of Sci-fi lover, action fan and 3d fan will love it. Watch it with children and family, especially children will love it.

Movie runtime: 1 hrs 29 min

Plot Summary: A Pharmaceutical Salesman in Pakistan discovered that his company is responsible for the killing of the infant child and fights with the system to uncover the truth.

Script Analysis(story, Screenplay, Dialogues): The movie is inspired by real-life events in Pakistan. The movie is set in the period of 1994-2006. It tells the story of Ayan (Emraan Hashmi) a struggling salesman fights the system to uncover the dark secret of his company's products. The story is fresh and, as it is inspired by true events, the story makes us more engaged in the movie. The movie is only 90 minutes long, but its problem is slow pacing. The screenplay is ok could have added more scenes towards the climax for a more powerful impact. The movie is not filmed in a typical Bollywood style; It is more of an art movie.
As art movies are slow and more focus are there on the story, it is like that. Dialogues are good.

Star Performances: Emraan Hashmi has delivered a sincere and earnest performance. He is apt in every scene. Adil Hussain is good as an antagonist. Maryam d'Abo is good as Maggie. Special mention for Satyadeep Mishra who plays Dr.Nadeem. Supriya Pathak is underutilised. All others have provided the required support well.

Technical Aspect(direction, Background Scores, Music): Movie is directed by Oscar-winning director Danis Tanovic. The direction is good. It has a documentary feel. The background score is good. Songs are played in the movie's background and are situation based. The movie is made in 2014 but didn't get the theatrical release. It can be watched on the ZEE5 digital platform.

Verdict: It is a well-made movie. Little slow pace but the length of the movie is not long. You can watch it on Zee5 Digital platform.

Bohemian Rhapsody movie review- a magnificent journey of an extraordinary man

Movie: Bohemian Rhapsody
Cast: Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Allen Leech, Tom Hollander
Director: Bryan Singer
Movie runtime134 minutes
Genre: Biography

Plot Summary: Movie is a biography of Queen band leads singer Freddie Mercury.

Script Analysis(story, Screenplay, Dialogues): Movie starts with the story of Freddie Mercury(Rami Malek) as a student and meet Brian Bay (Gwilym Lee) and Roger Taylor (Ben Hardy) in a club and join their Band. Showcasing the creative aspect of making the songs. The movie focuses more on his love life and situations happening because of them. His family life is shown to be limited in the movie. More focus more on his love life than band friendship. The screenplay is good. I wish they could have shown more of the creative process of making the songs. As scenes regarding the making of the songs are brilliant. Dialogues are very good. They are funny and witty and add a flavour to the scenes. Some scenes could have been cut off a little and could have added move scenes regarding the band member relationship.

Star Performances: Rumi Malek Gave the best performance of his career. He is outstanding. Sometimes it feels you are watching real Freddie Mercury on the silver scene. He is apt in replicating the body language especially during the live performance scenes of the band.
Allen Leech, as Freddie personal manager is outstanding. He is the second character after Freddie in the movie you look forward to what he is up to next. Gwilym Lee and Ben Hardy were very good in their performances. Joseph Mazzello, Lucy Boynton,  Tom Hollander, Aidan Gillen were good on their respective roles.

Technical Aspect(direction, Background Scores, Music): This movie is directed by Bryan Singer. The movie is well directed. Biographies are difficult to handle. However, the Director has tried to show all aspects of Freddie life in just 2 hours. He has done a commendable job. The background score is good. Music is the soul of the movie. Most of the Queen song is used in the background or as their performances during the tour or recording. It feels like one is watching a live Freddie concert. Songs like we will rock you and Bohemian Rhapsody are used brilliantly. Every time You will Hymn the songs along with the movie.

                                            Bohemian Rhapsody Movie trailer

Verdict: Bohemian Rhapsody is not a perfect movie, but it is not a bad movie either. It's a good movie. If you are a fan of Queen or music, you will definitely end up in liking the movie.

Andhadhun Movie Review

Movie: Andhadhun
Cast: Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, Radhika Apte
Director: Shriram Raghavan
Movie runtime: 2 hrs 20 min
Genre: Thriller/Crime/Drama

Plot Summary: Akash(Ayushmann Khurrana), a blind pianist who found himself in the middle of a crime scene.

Analysis: The main hero of the film is the story and Screenplay of the Film (rarely you come across such unique stories in Bollywood). The movie story is fresh and refreshing and not something that you have seen before. The movie is well executed. Screenplay holds you at the edge of your seat. You can't predict what will come next. The director plays with the mind of the audience, and he successfully tricks the audience with the crispy screenplay. This movie is directed by Sriram Raghavan, who previously directed critically acclaimed Johnny Gaddaar(2007) and Badlapur(2015). He delivered best when it comes to the crime thriller. He has done it again why he is best in this genre. Background Score is Awesome, Especially during a particular scene where Akash(Ayushmann Khurrana) plays the piano at an apartment. Music is Good.

Star cast performance: Every small to the big character as some or other importance to the plot of the movie. Ayushmann Khurrana has done a great job. He immense himself the gesture of a blind man convincingly. Tabu is the main show-stealer. Whenever she is on the screen, you can't predict what she will do next. Radhika Apte has a limited role. She is good what she does in this movie. Anil Dhavan requires a special mention for his performance. He is outstanding along with Chaya Kadam who plays one of his associates. Ashwini Kalsekar, Manav Vij and Anil Dhawan are good in their respective roles.

                                          Andhadhun Movie Trailer

Verdict: Definitely worth a watch. Go watch it for the story, direction and performance of the cast.

Chhichhore Movie Review- A good mixture of humor and emotion drama which will refresh out your college days memories.
